Coupon fanatic mentioned in local paper

In today’s Olympian paper there is an article on families saving money “Troubled Economy Squeezes Families.” The article, on page eight, highlights several local families pinching pennies and making changes to stretch the family budget. My blog and crazy coupon antics were mentioned in a sidebar on page nine!

21.75 pounds of FREE frozen veggies

That’s right folks – our freezers are now full of FREE frozen vegetables after todays shopping trip to Albertsons. The Green Giant Steamer veggies are on sale for 99 cents a bag. I had $1 off 1 coupons and was able to score 29 – 12 ounce bags of veggies for FREE. Plus, if you count pennies, which I do, I made a penny off each bag for a total of 29 cents profit.

I bought a few other things and my total came to $7.53, after a savings of $81.53. . .

Spent $8.37, saved $160.37!

This is probably one of my best grocery shopping trips ever. I went to Albertsons and scored big spending only $8.37 and saved $160.34!

I ended up with eight big boxes of Cheerios, 12 boxes of Fiber One bars, 11 packages of batteries, 10 packs of filler paper, four bags of Soy Crisps, one loaf of bread, one bag of chips, one package of toilet paper, one package of hot dog buns, one package of hamburger buns, two packages of cheese, four cans of corn and one reusable Albertsons bag.

192 FREE Pop Tarts, plus $10 and a free book

I’m a sucker for deals, this is no secret. I have been scoring big lately by combining sales, coupons and rebates.

Today I MADE $10 buying 16 boxes of pop tarts, plus I’m getting a free kid’s book in the mail. . .

I admit it, I’m addicted to coupons

Paying full price for something makes me nauseous. If it’s not FREE or at least half off, I usually won’t buy it unless I have to. I’m a sucker for a deal and I’m not kidding, we have saved hundreds this year with our coupons.
