A day at the Woodland Park Zoo

August 24, 2009

DSCF3648Last month we went to the Woodland Park Zoo, up in Seattle. This is the best zoo in the area and we hadn’t been yet. It’s a huge zoo and Liam literally RAN through the entire thing!  He kept saying, “more eminos” which of course means “more animals” . . .lucky for him there were lots.

Happy Birthday, eh?

August 21, 2009

BLOGHarrisonHotSprings-6The weekend of Liam’s 2nd birthday we were invited to go to Harrison Hot Springs (in British Columbia, Canada) with Jeremy’s grandparents. We couldn’t, and wouldn’t, want to pass up the opportunity to spend some quality time with them, in a really wonderful place. The drive is only a few hours, but once you get there you feel worlds away from the worries and stresses of home. Within minutes of checking into our hotel room we were ready to go for a swim!

Alaskan cabin adventure. . .

July 7, 2009

AKJulyCabinTub3ThumbnailWe arrived in Alaska in the middle of the night on July 1. It was strange to leave a pitch black Seattle and see the light increase as we flew north. Although I grew up with the midnight sun, it’s always surreal being outside at 2 a.m. with the sun out.

MayCampThumbnailOn Sunday after Jeremy’s party, we headed out to Riffe Lake to catch the tail end of the Clarke family tradition of camping for Memorial Day. We love it out there – the views, the nature, the family, the food, the great memories. It’s always a good time.

Visit with Grandma J

March 7, 2009

gmaj_readsthumbnail1Grandma Jennifer left this morning at 3 a.m. after ten days of hugs, kisses and giggles. We kept busy (hence the lack of blog posts) and did all kinds of fun things.

We are going to miss Grandma, but have plans to visit her in Alaska in May – only eight weeks away.

Chuck E. Cheese, Please?

January 30, 2009

ccthumbnailTalk about sensory overload, we had the crazy idea to take Liam to Chuck E. Cheese.

Jeremy had the day off and we thought it might be an entertaining place to bring Liam. Well, it certainly was entertaining and I don’t know who had more fun, Liam or us.

In a nutshell this weekend included Seahawks, turkey, shopping, lint, laughter, dancing, a parade, Santa and strawberry milkshakes! I hardly know where to start. . .

November 8, 2008

layovergmahug-copyMy parents had a four-hour layover in Seattle last Thursday so Liam and I took full advantage of the opportunity to see them. We picked them up and went to South Center mall – where we spent a couple hours laughing, hugging, playing and catching up.

Visit with Great Grandma

October 30, 2008

Liam and I drove Grandma Melinda and Grandpa Rick to the airport on Wednesday for their flight to San Antonio to see Catrina, Brian and kids. On the way back through Tacoma we stopped by Great Grandma and Great Grandpa’s house, and Liam had so much fun. . .
