“G” is for glasses, girlfriend . . .and goofball

June 11, 2008

G is for glasses and girlfriend.Liam knows how to give kisses, he’s given them for a few months now. At first he’d give them to you whenever you asked, now he only gives you a kiss if it’s his idea.

Often times he is a stealth kisser. . .he waits until you least expect it and he goes in for the gusto. Big, sloppy, kisses when you least expect it. Jeremy and I have learned that if we give each other a kiss, Liam gets jealous and will give us each one. I think it’s funny.

So Liam has this ABC book that we read at least once a day. The book has a picture for each one of the letters, for example, A is for apron, B is for ball etc. Well G is for glasses and it has a photo of a cute girl with heart shaped glasses on. About two to three weeks ago, when we got to the letter G, Liam leaned in and gave this girl a huge kiss! I thought it was just a one time deal, but no. . .he kisses her every time we read the book! It’s so hilarious. He doesn’t kiss the the “A girl” wearing the apron, or the “H girl” wearing the hat, or the “Q girl” dressed like a queen, or the “U girl” with an umbrella – just the “G girl.” There is something about her that he likes.

What is a mom to do? He certainly won’t date until he is at least 18, so the idea that he already digs cute girls with heart-shape glasses makes me a little nervous. This will certainly be a book I’ll keep around and when he becomes a teenager I’ll show him his first crush.
