Liam’s first magazine cover. . .

July 8, 2009

NeighborsSummer0901ThumbnaiLiam became famous in the Washington farm world today, as he’s the cover model for their latest quarterly magazine, Neighbors. I have written for the last few issues of the magazine on a freelance basis, but this is the first time they’ve used my photos AND my photos just happen to be of Liam.

Alaskan cabin adventure. . .

July 7, 2009

AKJulyCabinTub3ThumbnailWe arrived in Alaska in the middle of the night on July 1. It was strange to leave a pitch black Seattle and see the light increase as we flew north. Although I grew up with the midnight sun, it’s always surreal being outside at 2 a.m. with the sun out.

A quick trip to Post Falls, Idaho

July 7, 2009

PFallsJuneThumbnailOn Saturday June 27 we got an early morning call from my Aunt Lorna (dad’s sister) who has a litter of Golden Doodles . . .and she was offering one to us (they are hypoallergenic puppies!). So before we knew it, we decided to drive over to Post Falls, Idaho to visit them and meet these great puppies. . .

The Mariner’s. . .take two

July 6, 2009

MarinersThumbnail2Ever since we went to our first Mariner’s game a few weeks ago, Liam talks non-stop about the “moose”. He was so excited to go to another game and to meet the moose. We went to another game this past week and Liam finally met the moose in person. . .

Random Summer Ramblings . . .

June 18, 2009

My new Etsy shop. . .

June 18, 2009

Scrabble_BirdIn another attempt to try to bring in some income while being home with Liam (and to have an excuse to get crafty), I’ve set up an online store through Etsy.

This Web retail site is only for handmade items, craft supplies or vintage items – so it’s much more specific than say eBay. It’s a very cool place to browse and it’s always great to buy homemade.

A horse? A lion? Who knows. . .

June 12, 2009

LionHorseThumbnailI’ve been going through Liam’s stuff, cleaning out toys he doesn’t play with, clothes that are too small or too hot for the summer.

In the process, I came across his costumes, which Liam was pleased to play with. He looked very cute in each of the costumes, but putting them together. . .that’s another story.

First sprinkler of the summer

June 12, 2009

JuneSprinklerThumbnailLast week the weather was hot and Elmo the Sprinkler was calling to us.

Liam had a wonderful time playing in the water, although he’s very unsure of it. He won’t run through it, just approach it slowly and then run away. I suppose he’ll learn before too long that it’s hard to outrun a sprinkler and the real fun is getting sprinkled.

A day at the museum

June 12, 2009

OlyChildrensThumbnail;Last week Liam and I took a “field trip” to the Olympia Children’s Museum. Last fall I splurged for a year-long membership and I’m embarrassed at how little we’ve used it. Liam had so much fun that even after two hours of running around he still didn’t want to leave!
